Enabling Change and Decision-Making
Led by Shirley Otto, Governance Expert
Audience: Chief Officers (CO), Chairs and Trustees (CO/Trustees are encouraged to attend in pairs)
The importance of good governance for third sector organisations cannot be underestimated. Both new and experienced board members continue to express their desire for on-going support. This series of seminars aims to help trustees, and those who work closely with them, understand and carry out their governance responsibilities and to develop their capacity to make decisions and provide leadership in challenging times.
The outputs and benefits of the seminars will be:
- Discussion stimulated by participant experience in light of recent research
- Identification of available resources and good practice guides, with discussion about how they apply in various trustee roles
- Encouraging greater awareness and debate about governance and its significance for the voluntary and community sectors in Scotland
Although the seminars are on a complementary theme, they can be taken as stand-alone events.
Good Governance 3: Enabling Change and Decision-Making
31st August 16.00 - 20.00, Edinburgh
Change has always been a feature of the life of organisations and especially in these uncertain times. The changes may or may not be welcome; but it matters that the process is robust and well informed, and this includes sound decision-making even in times of high anxiety. This seminar presents the research on Boards and organisational change, and explores what helps and hinders change management and decision-making at Board level.
Further Good Governance seminars (follow links to event page):
24th October 16:00 - 20:00, Edinburgh
