Description

Mission-led businesses cover a wide range of industries, sizes and social/ environmental focuses. Research suggests that they already account for 4.3% of turnover in the UK private sector.

The creation, sustaining, and scaling of mission-led businesses in the UK is important to further develop the virtuous circle, but businesses face a number of challenges at these stages, from aligning purpose and creating impact alongside commerciality, to being able to generate a compelling case for investment.

Good growth is a core value of the Business Growth Programme which will underpin an cohort dedicated to impact-led businesses launching June 2020 in collaboration with the Impact Hub King’s Cross .

For this cohort, we will be looking for 45 impact-led companies working within the UN's Sustainable Development Goals to join us for our 3-month accelerator programme for which we will open applications on the night.

The event will include a variety of different sessions including a panel discussion exploring profit vs purpose, a panel to focus on the (often overlooked) opportunity around investing in impact led businesses and ‘5 lessons in 5 minutes’ style sessions with founders exploring the challenges of scaling an impact business.

Set against the backdrop of James Barry's "Progress of Human Knowledge and Culture" at the RSA we will explore how to tackle these challenges whilst building an inclusive business drawing on the experiences of founders, investors and key players from across the ecosystem such as:
