Event description

Description

In 2018 Nesta and Osca published their report Good and bad help. The report makes the distinction between ‘good help’ which supports people to feel hopeful, identify their own purpose and confidently take action; and ‘bad help’ which does the opposite, undermining people’s confidence, sense of purpose and independence.

Since publishing the report, work has been underway to build up a movement around Good Help across the country. The project is supported by the Department of Culture Media and Sport and the Lottery. Now they are looking for a small number of places to do some intensive work over the next two years. At the event we will explore whether Sheffield would like to be one of these places and if so develop ideas around what we could do here.

This event will set out the thinking behind Good Help, and ask: should this be a fundamental part of public service delivery in Sheffield? And should Sheffield be a part of developing this work nationally?
