About this event

As the world hurtles towards an unprecedented level of interconnectivity and interdependence, today’s leaders must become adept at succeeding in a space of contradictions: profit and purpose, patriot and global citizen, service and ambition.

Through the Good Society discussions, you will have an opportunity to connect with people around the globe to debate and hold opposing views, not with the intention to reject, but rather to embrace multiple viewpoints and consequently, build new solutions to long-standing problems.

Good Society Reading discussions will:

  1. Help you reflect deeply on personal experiences, drawing connections and seeing contrasts with the experiences of others, and practice how to have conversations across lines of difference where we fundamentally disagree.
  2. Equip you with the tools, lenses, frameworks and concepts that each reading provides to cultivate moral imagination and ground in your moral compass, so that when you have to make decisions, you are anchored by your core beliefs.
  3. Foster humbleness and respect for our position in thousand-year-old conversations, grounded in the knowledge that we stand on the shoulders of giants that have asked these questions before us.

Time Commitment

The total time commitment for this workshop is approximately 16 hours across the 8-weeks program. The number of hours will be distributed on:

  • Pre-work (x4): 1 to 2 hours on independent readings in preparation for the Group Session
  • Group Session (x4): 2 hours bi-weekly to attend a virtual Group Session
