Good Touch
Masturbation and Working with People with Learning Disabilities.
A one day course for professionals and a virtual drop in for parents/carers. Attend the training day and invite parents and carers to attend the post-training virtual drop in to discuss the issues surrounding masturbation and people with learning disabilities.
Professionals who attend the course are encouraged to stay for the drop-in as it will be an excellent way to 'break the ice' when discussing these issues with parents and carers.

The course is free of charge to professionals working with young people and adults with learning disabilities in North Wales as it is funded via the North Wales Together: Seamless services for People with Learning Disabilities, Learning Disability Transformation Programme (LDTP).
Many professionals who support people with learning disabilities have to deal with inappropriate self touch and masturbation.
People with learning disabilities who inappropriately touch themselves in public environments usually have their independence and freedom restricted. this training can lead to improved independent living.
PURPOSE
The aim of this course is to support practitioners working with people with learning disabilities to enable clients to masturbate safely and effectively if they so choose.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the training participants will have:
Knowledge of the current law and good practice responses surrounding intimate self-touch and masturbation
Knowledge of how to respond when clients want to masturbate both publically and privately
Explored ways in which they can support clients to masturbate appropriately and effectively
Explored resources that can support work with people who have learning disabilities and who masturbate
