Course Overview:

Feeling overloaded and overwhelmed is a common feeling in the film and TV sectors where freelancing, long working hours and high pressure environments combine to create large amounts of pressure. Additionally, as the pandemic continues and uncertainty is added to the mix - those feelings of overload and overwhelm can start to dent our resilience, reduce our focus and inhibit creativity. This session will share a range of evidence based tools and techniques that can be easily adopted into your daily life, supporting you to reclaim your energy, focus and creativity.

Mae'r sesiwn hon ar gyfer pobl sy'n gweithio yn y diwydiannau creadigol yng Nghymru sy'n awyddus i osgoi y teimlad o gorlwyth ac a hoffai archwilio opsiynau sy'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth y gellir eu cyflwyno i'w bywydau bob dydd i helpu i reoli'r teimladau o orlwyth. Mae'n sesiwn wych i unrhyw un sy'n awyddus i archwilio ystod o ddulliau cadarnhaol y gallant eu defnyddio i wella eu perfformiad a'u hansawdd o fywyd.

For who?

This session is for people working in the creative industries in wales who want to avoid feeling burnout and depleted and who would like to explore evidence based tools which can be introduced into their daily lives to help manage the feelings of overload and overwhelm. It is a great session for anyone who is keen to explore a range of positive approaches which they can use to enhance their performance and their quality of life.

Erbyn diwedd y sesiwn dylech allu:

  • Disgrifio sut mae gorlwyth yn cael ei greu drwy weithredoedd dyddiol.
  • Adnabod enghreiffitiau o eich profiadau eich hun o orlwytho
  • Canfod pa rai o'ch gweithredoedd eich hun a allai fod yn cyfrannu at eich gorlwyth.
  • Archwilio cyfres o offer a all helpu i leihau gorlwytho.
  • Creu strategaeth syml ar gyfer lleihau'r gorlethu a gorlwytho yn eich bywyd eich hun.

By the end of the session you should be able to:

  • Describe how overload and overwhelm is created through daily actions.
  • Identify your own experiences of overload and overwhelm
  • Discern which of your own actions might be contributing to your overload.
  • Explore a series of tools which can help to reduce overload and overwhelm.
  • Create a simple strategy for reducing overwhelm and overload in your own life.

Mae Michelle yn seicolegydd cymhwysol sy'n arbenigo mewn seicoleg gadarnhaol a seicoleg hyfforddi (MSc MAPPCP). Mae hi'n angerddol am ddatblygu dulliau ystyrlon a gwydn sy'n angori newid a thwf cadarnhaol a chynaliadwy. Yn sail i'w gwaith mae diddordeb mewn datblygu hyblygrwydd seicolegol. Mewn byd mwyfwy heriol a chymhleth mae'r gallu i symud, dysgu a thyfu drwy ein hemosiynau - sy'n aml yn rhai dyrys - yn sgil hollbwysig. 

Mae ei chleientiaid presennol yn cynnwys Google, BAFTA, BFI, Teach First, Neo Leaders, Schneider Electric, ac Ysgol fusnes Insead, ac mae hi'n eistedd ar weithgor BAFTA/BFI sy'n argymell egwyddorion gwrth-fwlio o fewn y diwydiannau sgrin.

Tutor 

Michelle is an applied psychologist, specialising in Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology (MSc MAPPCP). She is passionate about the development of the meaningful and resilient approaches which anchor positive and sustainable change and growth. Underpinning her work is an interest in the development of psychological flexibility. In an increasingly demanding and complex world the ability to move, learn and grow through our often-tumultuous emotions is a crucial skill. 

Current clients include Google, BAFTA, BFI, Teach First, Neo Leaders, Schneider Electric, and Insead Business School and she sits on the BAFTA/BFI working group advocating anti-bullying principles within the screen industries. 

Michelle is Co-Founder of LIVEWISE, an enterprise dedicated to the sharing, embedding and developing of evidence-based techniques which enable organisations and individuals to build strong, flexible and creative approaches.

Prospect's BECTU Sector Training in Wales is partly funded by the Welsh Government’s Wales Union Learning Fund via the joint-union CULT Cymru project. By registering for this training course or event, you are accepting that your personal data will be shared with the funder as part of BECTU’s requirements to receive the funding. The data is used only to show outcomes and outputs and is securely maintained for a period of 10 years, as stated in contracts for the funding.

Cancellation and Refunds Policy

A full refund will be issued to delegates who cancel at least 2 weeks prior to the event. Delegates who cancel within the 2 week period will not be eligible for a refund unless we are able to find someone else to take their place. Please let us know as soon as possible if you find you're no longer able to attend the workshop.
