Gorgeous Greenwich - guided tour
Wed 29 March 2017, 10:00 – 12:30 BST
Come celebrate English Tourism Week 2017 with a boat ride from central London down river to the heart of England's maritime history!
On arrival in Greenwich, enjoy short visits inside the chapel of the Old Royal Naval College, the National Maritime Museum and recently reopened Queen's House.
A short walk through the park that hosted the equestrian events of the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games will bring us to the Observatory to take in one of the very finest panoramic views anywhere in London. And yes, we will find time to stand on the famous Prime Meridian and hear about what put the 'G' in GMT!
Tour ends back in the town centre near to the DLR station and river bus pier. You will be close to the Market for lunch or shopping, or to see the excellent exhibition about Emma, Lady Hamilton (exhibition details). Alternatively, visit the Cutty Sark (more here), head back to the Observatory (details) or up river to the Thames Barrier, visit the O2 including the Star Wars exhibition, or fly the cable-car across the Thames (Emirates Air Line). Plenty to fill up an exciting day in Greenwich!
Meet at 10.00 sharp at Embankment Tube station (river side) to take the Thames Clipper to Greenwich (transport ticket not included). Prices here
