GOURMET FOOD WALK
Combine a leisurely scenic walk through unspoilt countryside with some of the best food and drink from Devon & Dorset.
The Gourmet Food Walk is a food and drink walk of about eight miles. During your journey, you make several stops for delicious refreshment, at each of which you will be entertained and partake in a course of a meal created by local chefs of the area. At each stop your gourmet food will be washed down with traditional local drinks, cider, cocktails, real ale or a non alcoholic drink with a local connection.
It starts and finishes in Kilmington and the walk (it’s leisurely and fun, not a race!) takes you up and down footpaths, tracks and quiet lanes through unspoilt countryside with fine views all around. There may well be stiles, steep hills and rough tracks to navigate!
We are sure you will enjoy this unusual day out – but book soon, it’s likely to be popular and we can only cater for a limited number of people.
The entry fee includes
- Fully waymarked route
- Water & Snack at the start line

We have chosen to support Devon Freewheelers as our chosen charity this year. They will also be providing the first aid at the event and have asked that everyone donates at least £2 into the collection at the event to cover their costs. We hope you will also choose to increase this donation or get sponsored for this worthy charity. Please do feel free to have extra fun and come in fancy dress.
Devon Freewheelers are a team of 37 volunteer Emergency Vehicle drivers who are dedicated to providing a weekday out of hours service (17.00 – 06.00) and 24/7 weekend service supporting the NHS in delivering essential Blood, Samples, Medication and Donor Breast Milk to hospitals throughout Devon and Dorset.
START & FINISH TIMES
To avoid congestion, the walk starts in groups, at 15-minute intervals, between 10am and 11.15 am. When ordering tickets you may express a preference for a starting time on a first come basis. There are only 40 tickets available per group.
Your e-ticket will indicate your own particular starting time, with detailed instructions for finding the starting location.
We anticipate that you will finish the walk between 4pm and 5.30pm. Walk at a leisurely pace and enjoy yourself – it isn’t a race!
