Description

Gov Design Meetup: Designing public services

Gov Design is a meetup aimed at connecting people working in, for or with government to exchange knowledge, share experiences and support each other. The goal is to create more awareness of design in government and learn from each other’s experiences.

On Tuesday 28 May from 6 to 8:30pm we’re running the Gov Design meetup in San Francisco. We’ll have 6 short talks and time for Q&A and a panel. The talks will be from people working at the local, state, and federal levels of government. It’s open to anyone who is working in the public sector or interested in the field.

The Gov Design meetup started in London. There have been 12 meetups over the past two years on themes like data and privacy, inclusive services, and large scale infrastructure. This is the first time Gov Design is going ‘on tour’ outside of the United Kingdom.

Speakers and panelists

  • Carrie Bishop, Chief Digital Services Officer for the City and County of San Francisco
  • Michelle Thong, Digital Services Lead, City of San José
  • Marc Hebert, Director, Innovation Office, Human Services Agency
  • Amber Reed, Chief Service Designer, Whole Person Care, San Francisco Department of Public Health
  • Speaker to be confirmed, UK's Government Digital Service

About the organisers

The event is organised by 2 of the 5 Gov Design London Meetup organisers. Kara and Martin both work for the UK's Government Digital Service.
