Why a Diversity Event

The North London CIPD branch is delighted to announce that on October 4th, we will hold an event for CIPD members and students and all those in a position to hire and inspire, inviting them to listen and discuss the challenges and engage in discussion and find solutions that encourage diversity and inclusion for ethnic minorities and other underrepresented groups into the board room.

The issue of diversity on boards and in the workforce is increasingly in the spotlight. The argument gaining traction is that diversity is key to create the balance that leads to an effective board. With the recent publication of the Parker Review, it is clear that firms are not doing enough to ensure greater diversity in the Boardroom. Sir John Parker has called on all FTSE 100 firms to appoint at least one director from a minority background from 2021.
