The UN Global Compact Network UK and CDP, alongside the SME Climate Hub, are organising a dialogue to accelerate action towards net zero.

Both government and business across the value chain have a role to play in keeping 1.5°C alive; bold government climate policies and ambitious private sector leadership mutually reinforce each other, and together take climate action to the next level. This is a dynamic described in the climate action space as the ‘ambition loop’.

This high-level dialogue will bring together a diverse panel of representatives from business and government. It will showcase and support understanding of the role of large corporations, SMEs and government in driving ambitious, 1.5°C-aligned and science-based climate action. Building on the momentum seen in the UK during this past year, the event will also call on businesses and governments from across the globe to each play their vital part in the ‘ambition loop’, providing the leadership and confidence needed for rapid decarbonisation this decade. This event builds on the success of a previous UN Global Compact Network UK and CDP ‘Business and UK Government Dialogue’, that convened over 500 participants to advance the UK Government’s net zero goal.
