Government Disability Employment Policy: Current Directions and the Disability Employment Charter

🧭 Presentation Overview

Join Professor Kim Hoque as he unpacks the evolving landscape of UK disability employment policy. This session will delve into the Equality (Race and Disability) Bill’s push for mandatory disability employment and pay gap reporting, and the implications of Sir Charlie Mayfield’s ‘Keep Britain Working’ review. Discover how the Disability Employment Charter proposes transformative changes to schemes like Disability Confident and Access to Work, and advocates for statutory rights for trade union equality reps, procurement reform, and enforceable timeframes for reasonable adjustments. Learn how these proposals are being championed to shape future government policy.
