Each month, we will be reading books from a plethora of genres including Science Fiction, Literary Fiction, Crime and much more!This month we will be discussing the French novelist and essayist Marguerite Yourcenar. In Yourcenar's most important books she re-created past eras and personages, meditating thereby on human destiny, morality, and power, most notably Memoirs of Hadrian (a fictioanlised memoir of the 2nd century Roman Emperor). Her extensive bibliography and exquisite style brought her to be the first woman ever to be elected into the Académie Française. Most of her works were translated from French into English by her life partner Grace Frick (an American scholar).'The idea of being forgotten is terrifying.
