About this Event

Join GRADJOB on Sunday 28 April 10-5pm for an open workshop with Tako Taal and Rosie O'Grady. We particularly encourage artist, organisers, educators, creatives and enthusiasts who are ambitious, open, questioning, and supportive of others. This session is supported by SCAN and kindly hosted by our friends at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop.

GRADJOB is a year-long collaboratively produced learning and professional development programme for recent graduates working across Scotland. Regrettably, GRADJOB emerged from a lack of support, exploitation, and precarious working conditions. It aims to offer support and inspiration to artists and organisers in the early stages of their career and who are in need of practical advice about how to survive, thrive, and develop their practice. emerged from a lack of support, exploitation, and precarious working conditions. It aims to offer support and inspiration to artists and organisers in the early stages of their career and who are in need of practical advice about how to survive, thrive, and develop their practice. GRADJOB celebrates learning how to: create opportunities, keep going, write applications, MAKE TIME, build audiences, work collectively, make your own art world, SAY NO, juggle things, make friends, MESS IT UP, stay confident and grounded, find spaces, expand networks and be proactive!

The programme is designed and delivered specifically by and for artists, educators, and organisers who are currently working precariously within in Scotland.

The Scottish Contemporary Art Network can offer a number of travel and/or childcare bursaries to help with costs of attendance particularly for those on low incomes or living outside the central belt. Please send a short email to info@sca-net.org detailing your circumstances and envisaged costs by April 12. We are sorry but funds are limited so we may not be able to meet all requests.
