You’re invited to meet Dr Kyung Hwa Shon (Tutor Research, Art & Design Graduate Diploma) and alumni in Seoul for an in-person conversation about studying the Graduate Diploma at the RCA.

What to expect

Saturday 1 November 2025, 1-4pm

1-2.30pm - First group

2.30-4pm - Second group

Prepare one or two digital pages (research and process) to bring to the session.

Please only book 1 session per person to allow other the opportunity. If we see you have booked two sessions then we may cancel the latest booking in order to free up the space.

Who is this event for

• Those interested in postgraduate study at the Royal College of Art
• Current RCA applicants and offer-holders
• Friends and family are also welcome to join, though they do not need to have a ticket

You don't have to specialise in any discipline to attend this event: we welcome guests planning to apply to all subject areas.

Due to the postgraduate nature of RCA study, all attendees must be over 18.

About the hosts

Dr Kyung Hwa Shon (Tutor Research, Art & Design Graduate Diploma)

Dr. Kyung Hwa Shon is a cross-disciplinary artist, researcher and educator.

Dr Kyung Hwa Shon is a Tutor (Research) in Graduate Diploma Art & Design.

She received her practice-led PhD (Painting) from the Royal College of Art, School of Arts and Humanities in 2019. Prior to this, Kyung Hwa undertook an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA between 2009 and 2011, after completing her BFA in Painting from Hong-Ik University, Seoul, South Korea. She was a Starr Scholar at Royal Academy of Arts, London (20011-2012). She has exhibited internationally and collaborated with global companies for commissioned art projects.
