Event Details

The Graduate Outcomes consultation is one of the biggest projects undertaken by the RCVS in the last few years, looking at a broad range of areas related to how veterinary students are educated and trained, and how recent graduates are prepared and supported into life in practice.

Following the closure of the Graduate Outcomes consultation survey on 18 January, the consultation will be moving on to its second stage which includes in-depth focus groups and interviews with a broad range of veterinary professionals.

 


 

When are the focus groups taking place?

On Thursday 24 January, to coincide with the Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons (SPVS) and Veterinary Management Group (VMG) Congress at the Celtic Manor Resort near Newport in South Wales.

The sessions take place in the Caldicot Room which is located on Convention Level C2 at the following times:

Focus Group 1: 13.00- 14.30

Focus Group 2: 15.00- 16.30

Please note that places are limited to 10 people in each session.



 

Do I need a ticket to SPVS VMG Congress in order to attend the focus group?

No you will not need a ticket to attend the focus groups.

 


 

Who can attend the focus groups?

The focus groups are open to anyone in the practice team and veterinary and VN students.

What happens after I have registered, do I need to prepare anything?

Once you have registered, your details will be shared with the Work Psychology Group (WPG) who will send you a briefing sheet with further details of what to expect.

Prior to the focus groups, you may wish to read the Graduate Outcomes consultation document to refresh your memory on the issues and some of the suggested solutions.

 



Who is running the focus groups?

Maire Kerrin from the Work Psychology Group (WPG), an agency specialising in business psychology which is conducting the Graduate Outcomes consultation on behalf of the College.
