Description

This series of 4 workshops, delivered fortnightly, is designed and led by the Academic Support team at London College of Communication. All sessions will include activities and discussions aimed at providing postgraduate students with strategies to develop their creative thinking and academic skills within postgraduate study. The workshops are offered to cross-college students, allowing opportunities to meet other graduates at LCC. Lunch refreshments are included.

WORKSHOP 1: October 19th

This session will focus on the nature and purpose of postgraduate study, focussing on what constitutes postgraduate study, learning approaches and how to get the most out of your course at LCC. It will be an opportunity to meet students from other disciplines and to exchange good practice in terms of time management and effective study skills.  The workshop will include:

  • How to get the most out of your studies at LCC: lectures, seminars,  tutorials, projects, libraries and wider resources within London

  • ‘Postgraduateness’

  • Recognising how you learn

  • Workload organisation & time management

  • Balancing practical & academic work
