Graduation Ceremony 3 - Eng, Avi, Energy, Rail and Civil and Science

We are delighted to announce the date of Graduation 2024! This is your opportunity to celebrate your hard work and achievements with friends, family, classmates and University Centre staff.

The Graduation ceremony for our Engineering, Aviation, Energy, Rail and Civil and Science students (Ceremony 3) is taking place on Thursday 11 July 2024. Please see details below:

Location: Newcastle Civic Centre, Barras Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8QH

Student registration and robing: 4.30pm to 5.30pm

Ceremony start time: 6.30pm

Light refreshments served: 7.30pm

Graduate and guests depart: 8.00pm

Deadline to book your place, hire your gown, book guest tickets and photography: 12.00pm, Tuesday 28 May

Tickets

You will be able to book your student ticket, along with up to two guest tickets, hire your gown and purchase any photography packages from 10.00am, Tuesday 26 March 2024. Your student ticket costs £37, which includes the rental price for your Graduation gown. All guests of all ages will require a ticket to attend a Graduation ceremony. Guest tickets are £12 and are non-transferable. If you do not wish to attend Graduation, you will be unable to book guest tickets on another student’s behalf. All guests require a ticket, including any guests under 18 years old.

Extra guest tickets

If Graduation ceremonies are not fully booked by the deadline date of 12.00pm, Tuesday 28 May 2024, we will release extra guest tickets from 10.00am, Tuesday 4 June 2024. You will be notified when tickets are back on sale via the email address you supplied at the time of your original booking. Please note, there is no waiting list for extra guest tickets.

It is advised that you book your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Due to capacity and health and safety regulations at the venue, we can only accommodate a certain number of students and guests. If a ceremony becomes full, we will endeavour to place you in another ceremony. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee your place at Graduation after the ticket deadline date of 12.00pm, Tuesday 28 May 2024.

The ceremony

This is a formal ceremony so you will need to wear academic dress (gown, hood and mortar board). When booking your student ticket, you will need to select the degree title that you are graduating from.

The formal part of the ceremony will last for approximately one hour, after which light refreshments will be served and you will have the opportunity to catch up with friends and have any professional photography taken that you may have ordered.

Due to the large number of students graduating, it is very important that all students and guests arrive promptly at the allocated time for registration. There is no on-site car parking at Newcastle Civic Centre; however, there are car parks located in the city centre, so please make allowances for this when planning your journey.

On-the-day photography/videography by Newcastle College

During the Graduation ceremonies on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 July 2024, photography and videography will be taking place for use by Newcastle College and NCG. This may be used across Newcastle College and NCG marketing publications and publicity materials, which may include prospectuses, press releases, social media and outdoor advertising for a period of up to 5 years, as and when required. If you do not wish to be part of any photography/videography taken by Newcastle College and NCG at the Graduation ceremonies, please make this known on the day by speaking to a member of staff.
