Learn how to graft apple and pear trees by hand using the traditional 'whip and tongue' knife method, and take two new trees home with you!

You will learn about the history and theory of grafting, how to select scions, where to get rootstock, and then be given plenty of time to make practise cuts. You'll then create 2 new trees to take home with you (with a range of varieties and rootstocks to choose from, to suit your situation)! You are welcome to bring your own scions. Please bring a bag to take your trees away with you to pot on later.

Tutor L ewis McNeill was taught to graft by Nick Dunn of Frank Matthews nursery and has gone on to successfully graft thousands of fruit trees, teaching hundreds of people the skill along the way, from school children to pensioners!

This is an accessible venue. Hot drinks and light refreshments will be provided but please bring a pack lunch or go to one of the many eateries in Camden.
