Grain Rain Tea Ceremony (榖雨茶会)
Fri 21 April 2017, 14:30 – 16:30 BST
Grain Rain (谷雨) is the 6th solar terms of the year. It begins when the Sun reaches the celestial longitude of 30° and ends when it reaches the longitude of 45°. It more often refers in particular to the day when the Sun is exactly at the celestial longitude of 30°. In the Gregorian calendar, it usually begins around April 20 and ends around May 5.
The name “Grain Rain” comes from an ancient Chinese saying, “Rain helps the growth of grain” (雨生百谷). Grain Rain is the last term of spring, after which the temperature rises higher and it rains more often, and such weather is significantly good for the growth of grain. It also gives us nutrition, energy and warmth for us to grow strong.
Let's celebrate the further growth in ourselves. We are going to have a tea ceremony before Spring ends.
The tea ceremony includes:
- A 10-minute meditation
Due to the limited space, we only offer 10 seats. Ticket is £10.5/pp to cover the cost of tea and snack, use of the space and the whole experience.
