Grammar Subject Knowledge with Teresa Heathcote

This course will cover the subject knowledge required to teach the requirements of the National Curriculum Appendix 2 Vocabulary, Grammar and Punctuation.
The sessions will use the teaching sequence for writing at its core and will include the following aims:
to develop a good subject knowledge required to teach the objectives
to discuss the difference between discrete grammar lessons and contextualised writing sessions that include grammar
to ensure that the teaching of grammar has a maximum impact on writing
This course would be open to all; teachers and teaching assistants
Teresa is an independent Literacy consultant, working in Sheffield schools for the last 10 years. Over the last 2 years she has been heavily involved in supporting schools with the implementation of the new National Curriculum, particularly the SPAG agenda. She works with teachers and teaching assistants to develop subject knowledge and to ensure that the children are given the best experiences that allows their writing to flourish.
