About the Event

Welcome to a studio tour of 177 Trongate for a tour of working artist's studios in a historical listed building, part of the Outer Spaces network. More information about Outer Spaces here: https://outerspaces.org/about/

177 Trongate was built between 1923-1929 by Glasgow Architects Frank Burnet and Boston. Initially built as a warehouse that has been repurposed since then as artist's studios.

What to Expect:

• A guided walkthrough of active artist studios
• Meet the artists
• Insights into the history of the building

Accessibility:

Unfortunately this event is not accessible to wheelchair users or those with mobility issues due to stairs. We had planned to have access to a wheelchair lift, but unfortunately due to a staff shortage, this will no longer be possible for our Doors Open Day event this year.

Be aware this building is being refurbished and there are torn floor tiles on the ground that could be a trip hazard. Tour will be guided throughout.

Located in Glasgow’s Merchant City, 177 Trongate is easily accessible by public transport.
