About this event

Do you have an urgent grant proposal to finish, but you don't even know how to start writing it?

Do you want to find more time to write, but something else always gets in the way?

Do you procrastinate?

Treat yourself to a 2.5-day grant writing retreat in a distraction-free and supportive writing space.

Here’s the good news:

  • A virtual grant writing retreat helps you unblock, focus, and get stuff done.
  • Working in a group with timed sprints creates 100% accountability and gets you in the flow quickly.
  • Joining co-working sessions boosts your confidence and helps you build a support network beyond the meeting.

Join Joana Zozimo, a qualified writing facilitator for

2.5-day grant writing retreat with ample time to focus and to discuss your grant writing challenges

9 writing sessions, and more than

10 hours of focused writing

Happy writing!

The structure

This structure is based on the structured writing retreat model developed by Rowena Murray, adapted to the online context. The ample, focused writing time is supported by movement and meal breaks and opportunities to discuss (your) writing with the community of writers. Our job as facilitators is to create and hold this safe and supportive environment for you so you make the most of your time and make measurable progress on your writing project.

Research shows that structured writing sessions...

• provide dedicated time and space for writing by intentionally and purposefully disengaging from other tasks

• create accountability among participants by sharing and assessing specific goals

• are a safe space to discuss writing challenges and increase the wellbeing of academics and PhD researchers by creating a sense of connectedness

(see Murray and Newton 2009; Stevenson 2020)

What have previous participants achieved?

✅ Finalised PhD manuscript

✅ Finished a chapter and two scenes in a novel

✅ Wrote first draft of a grant proposal

✅ Revised article for re-submission to journal

✅ Polished all references in the dissertation

✅ Wrote a short story
