Event description

Description

Friday 26th & Saturday 27th January 2018

Granular is an experiential investigation of the material possibilities of noise.

Utilising a range of formats from AV installation through performance to talks, this combined event and exhibition explores processes of differentiation and coalescence in undifferentiated material, and its converse, the disintegration of differentiated material. In either case granularity is encountered as the mode of two-way transference between states (material and digital) and the point at which a thing starts or ceases to be.

This event has an accompanying Exhibition running from 16th January - 3rd February 2018 in the Exhibition Gallery at Stockwell Street, which will include work from Jim Hobbs, Benjamin McDonnell, Antonio Roberts, David Ryan and Rob Smith.

Friday 26th January: Performance of "Recitativo" 2017 will be by the David Ryan ensemble.

Saturday 27th January: Colloquium presentations. Greg Hainge (Keynote), Steve Kennedy, Russell Duke, Antonio Roberts and David Ryan (among others).
