Description

Delving deeper into your life stories

Suitable for those who have attended introductory courses. Please contact the tutor before signing up to this course. Inspired by graphic novels including memoir, reportage, visual diaries, "graphic medicine" and "autofictionalbiography", we will draw on themes from your life and imagination to generate your own ideas for projects. One of these will be developed into a graphic short story. This will include researching, planning and finding a visual form for your story to take, as well as touching on how to approach publishers, enter competitions or self-publish. There will be an optional additional opportunity to work with a writer in a workshop designed to further enrich the written side of your work.

Basic materials including a sketchbook will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring additional art materials if they wish.

Costs: £130
Days: 10 Thursday mornings
Times: 10:00 - 12:00
Dates: 18 January - 29 March (no class 15 February)
Room: White room
Maximum: 10
