Great Crested Newt Survey Morning
Sun 9 April 2017, 08:00 – 10:00 BST
The morning will start with a short classroom session on the ecology of the great crested newt. We will discuss legal protection and how to apply for a survey license. We will then visit a local newt reserve to undertake a practical session setting and collecting bottle traps.
Similar courses are usually set over two days, one evening setting the bottle traps and then the following morning collecting the traps in. However to make it just a morning course, some traps will have been set the night before, for us to collect in.
We need to meet relatively early at 8am at Westmorland Park Pavilion, Westmorland Drive, Warfield, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG42 3QP
Tea and coffee will be available throughout the morning.
CMA Members - free; Non-members £40.
