About this event

The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust (HMDT) runs Holocaust Memorial Day in the UK and each year a different theme is chosen. The theme for 2022 is ‘One Day’ and the lecture will be related to this theme.

Agnes was born in Budapest in July 1944 and was sent to the Budapest Ghetto with her mother in November 1944 and liberated in January 1945. This makes her one of the youngest Holocaust survivors. She came to studying the Holocaust late in life when she did an MA in Holocaust Studies at Sheffield University 1996-98. This led to three published books as well as lectures both in the UK and abroad. She has been honoured with an MBE and two Honorary Doctorates for her work.

Agnes was a Founding Trustee of HMDT (2004-2012).

This lecture will take place at 2pm on Tuesday 25th January 2022 in the David Chiddick Building at the University of Lincoln.
