Event description

Description

Vegetable growers are invited to come along to this meeting which will summarise some of the key project findings from Fife growers (Balbirnie Estates) - impact of composts on soil health in carrot rotations, and from grower groups across the UK.

This meeting is being held as part of the AHDB-funded GREATsoils project CP 107b. The project aims to evaluate soil assessment methods for growers, improve growers’ confidence in measuring soil health and disseminate project findings to a wide range of levy payers, growers, advisors and other stakeholders.

The event will be led by Dr Audrey Litterick, Soil Scientist at Earthcare Technical and will include a session on key findings of the grower trials with Anja Vieweger of the Organic Research Centre.

Who should come? The workshops are aimed at growers, but may also be useful for farmers and advisors. We expect that growers will already have a basic understanding of the link between soil health and plant health and will be looking to understand more about this and how soil testing can be used to strengthen their growing system.

Workshops are open to all, however in the event of high demand, preference is given to AHDB levy payers and Associate Members. Find out more about the benefits of AHDB Associate Membership.

Places are limited so book early!
