Join us for the FREE Green Careers Showcase

🙋‍♀️Who can come: *This event is aimed at supporting school leavers and those early in their careers. We estimate this ranges between 16-25 year olds but we encourage anyone who might find the event beneficial to join us.

1 - Ajay Tegala - National Trust ranger, conservationist, author and wildlife presenter.

Workshops

1 - Career workshop with CIEEM

Practical tips and advice on job hunting, applications and interview skills in the green sector with Brian Heppenstall, Education and Careers Manager at the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.

2 - Nature Recovery Workshop

Pete Salter our nature recovery land manager will provide an intro to reserves management, outlining the opportunities and challenges. He will talk about different habitat types at Walthamstow Wetlands (grassland, reedbed and open water) and how our team manages the site to support wildlife.

3 - Digital Communications at LWT

Learn about working in digital comms with Eve Edwards our communications lead. Eve will walk you through the importance of social media planning, analysing trends and storyboarding. Learn how to tell compelling stories and convey information to a range of audiences. Have the chance to storyboard or make your own content in Walthamstow Wetlands.


All workshops will run twice 14:30-15:15 and 16:15-17:00 . Booking will be available on the day on a first come first served basis.

🚇 Tube/train stations: Tottenham Hale (Victoria Line/ National Rail) – 9-minute walk

Blackhorse Road (Victoria Line/ Suffragette Line) – 13-minute walk

🚏 Bus: Walthamstow Wetlands / Ferry Boat Inn (123/ 230 bus routes)

🚗 Car: Paid parking is available at the reserve entrance - postcode N17 9NH.

If you feel that transport is a barrier for you to attend please contact youth@wildlondon.org.uk after the event and we can reimburse you. There is free parking available for Blue Badge holders.

Both ramps and lifts are available in and around the Engine House building.

Disabled toilets are available.

A quiet room and prayer space will be available on site.
