Green Connection: A Journey to Well-being with Wirral Forest

Hello and welcome to Green Connection, presented by Wirral Forest, a wellbeing CIC. Our mission is to support individuals in managing stress and mental health concerns through immersive experiences in nature. Join us in embracing the healing power of the outdoors and embark on a journey towards enhanced well-being and rejuvenation.

As the seasons shift from early Autumn through to the heart of Spring, we invite you to reset and recharge amidst the soothing embrace of nature. Our carefully crafted programs offer practical activities that encourage a deep sense of connection with the natural world, a perfect antidote to the demands of a busy work week.

Weekly Walks. In collaboration with local social connectors, we have identified the need for green connection right here on the Wirral. To support the need, we are offering:

  • Weekly gatherings.
  • If you want a slightly more unique and rare activity, we offer a Sunday afternoon blue connection excursion to Hilbre Island where the sea and sky converge to create a healing environment.
  • Free community walks at Victoria Park, Rock Ferry every Thursday afternoon at 1:30. These open invitation, leisurely strolls provide a tranquil space for rejuvenation, promoting well-being through the simple pleasure of nature's embrace.

Your Guide. Guiding you through the transformative experiences is our seasoned expert who has explored nature therapy sites throughout England, Midwestern United States, and Japan. Drawing inspiration from the practice of Forest Bathing, we offer an experience that awakens your senses to the restorative qualities of the natural world. This phenomenon, often referred to as attention restoration therapy, has benefits for both body and mind.

5-Ways of Well-being. The walks can help you experience an uplifted mood, sharpened clarity of thought, and even a boost to your immune and cardiovascular systems. Our approach aligns with the five ways to well-being: fostering connections with both fellow participants and nature, engaging in physical activity, staying mindfully present, cultivating curiosity, and envisioning a future where you can extend these benefits to others.

What You’ll Need to Participate. After you schedule your event with us, participation in our events is simple – all you need are comfortable, sturdy shoes and attire suited to the day's weather conditions. We strive to proceed with events rain or shine, although safety concerns may lead to cancellation in case of high winds.
