We would like to invite you to a webinar we are hosting to seek views the proposals set out in our consultation on our administration of the proposed Green Gas Support Scheme (GGSS).

The GGSS is intended to encourage the deployment of new anaerobic digestion (AD) biomethane plants to increase the proportion of green gas in the gas grid. Support will be provided to registered biomethane producers based on the volume of eligible biomethane, produced from AD, injected into the gas grid.

Ofgem has been named by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) as the intended administrator of the scheme, and we recently launched a consultation on our proposed administration.

The event will provide an overview of the proposals we set out in the consultation, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions on the proposals. We also plan to run focused sessions on our proposals for administering reporting on ongoing obligations, and on our proposed approach to ensuring that producers claiming GGSS support are not claiming for the same unit of biomethane under the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO).
