About this event

With just seven months to go until the next Scottish election, and with 7 steps on the Pathway to a Rewilding Nation, it’s time to put rewilding where it belongs -  at the heart of Scotland’s political agenda.

Join us for a powerful, visual stunt outside Holyrood to demand action and expose the barriers still holding Scotland back from becoming the world’s first Rewilding Nation.

Together, we’ll call on politicians to remove the obstacles to rewilding,  and to commit to bold, lasting change for Scotland’s nature, people and climate.

 Come along

It’s easy to get involved. Just sign up via this page and put the date and time in your calendar! We really look forward to seeing as many supporters as possible on the day. Once again, if you have any access requirements let us know in advance and we will do our utmost to accommodate your needs. We’d love to be able to predict a glorious autumnal afternoon, but in Scotland there are no such guarantees, so please bring along warm and waterproof clothing if required on the day.

📢 Why it matters

Scotland’s nature is in crisis. But rewilding offers a powerful, hopeful path forward — one that restores biodiversity, tackles climate change, and supports thriving rural communities. The 2026 election must be a turning point.

Whether you’re a campaigner, nature lover, policy thinker or concerned citizen — this is your moment to stand up for a rewilded future.

📣 Bring a friend, and make some noise for nature!

Let’s break down the barriers to rewilding, and build a better future for all.

Frequently asked questions

Where exactly should we meet?

If you make your way to the public entrance of the Scottish Parliament you will see representatives from the Scottish Rewilding Alliance gathered at the grassy area to the south of the public entrance. There will be signs, barriers and music playing so we are hoping we will be very obvious!

What should I bring?

Appropriate clothing - it will be October in Scotland so we just don't know what to expect weather wise! We would also encourage attendees to fashion their own placards and costumes - we really want to grab the attention of the public, the politicians and the press.

Will there be photographers there?

Yes, we will have official photographers and people filming. If you are attending you are likely to be in shot at some point.

What exactly is the point of the stunt?

We need to make the decision makers (who work in the building we'll be protesting outside) aware that there is simply not enough being done to help Scotland become a Rewilding Nation. Press and media attention will help put the pressure on, and a well attended stunt is a great way to get this!

Will I be asked to do something?

We will be looking for volunteers to hold our Stop/Go signs, but there is absolutely no pressure on anyone to do anything they feel uncomfortable doing. We would love lots of people there, so if you just want to be there and support without actively participating, we would love that too.

Are there any age restrictions?

No, but please keep in mind the date and potential weather for an outdoor protest in Scotland.
