This course is for all adults that are required to hold a Wood Badge for their role in scouting (the green modules on the module matrix card (which can be found at http://tinyurl.com/q26nvmr).
The modules covered on this residential course are::
05: The Fundamentals of Scouting is for all adults in Scouting working towards the award of their Wood Badge. This module supports the learner to consider The Fundamentals and the Religious Policy and their relationship with the programme delivered to young people. The module explores the guiding principles of Scouting; the core values which The Scout Association stands for and believes in.
06: Changes in Scouting. This module aims to provide an overview of the movement’s history focusing on its development to meet the changing needs of society.
07: Scouting for all.This module is for all adults who hold appointments in Scouting. It provides an introduction to equal opportunities and practical advice about how to make Scouting inclusive in your area of responsibility.
08: Skills of Leadership. This module aims to cover the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to be an effective leader
09: Working with Adults.This module aims to cover the underpinning functions required to work effectively as a member of an adult team.
11: Administration.This module aims to provide you with information, and an opportunity to consider and learn about best practice when managing the administrative tasks required in your role.
12(A): Delivering a Quality Programme. This is a mandatory module for those who are completing a Wood Badge. It aims to provide leaders, managers and supporters with information about how we deliver quality Scouting to young people, and how we ensure it meets their needs.
