What's included

This programme addresses the underrepresentation of young people from diverse ethnic heritage in green careers and within the green and sustainability sector, an emerging industry with significant potential but demonstrably lacking diversity.

The Green & Sustainable Careers programme is designed to raise awareness of careers within the sector and provide you with the tools to explore these opportunities. For those looking to kickstart a new career in an ever-growing sector (with some jobs that haven’t even been created yet!), or for those looking to switch careers into an industry you want to learn more about, this programme has something for everyone.

With us, you will:

  • Be introduced to the Green and Sustainable Economy.
  • Explore various pathways into green careers, including education, work experience, training, and career progression.
  • Have access to tailored resources to support you on your career journey.

Who is eligible:

  • 16-30 year olds
  • Focused on supporting young people within the UK
  • Focused on supporting those of diverse ethnic heritage and low socio-economic background

This is achieved by attending just two online workshops and signing up to the programme via My Blueprint for All here: Programmes: Green & Sustainable Futures

Workshop 2: Transitioning to Green Employment

This workshop will focus on providing you with a further deep dive and clear overview of the opportunities available in the green economy, sustainability, and environmental sectors, with an emphasis on green skills. This workshop will offer practical guidance on how you can develop the skills needed to transition into green and sustainable employment.

Key objectives include:

  • Exploring various pathways into green careers, including education, work experience, training, and career progression.
  • Building your confidence in your skills and enhancing your knowledge to support your future career choices.
  • Reducing barriers to employment by offering actionable steps for you to navigate and succeed in this sector.

This workshop will empower you with the knowledge and tools to pursue meaningful opportunities in the green and sustainability sectors, boosting your confidence for the next stages of your professional journey.

*This is the second workshop of a 2 part programme with workshop 1 on Wednesday 21st January 2026 from 5:30pm- 7.00pm
