Transport & Address:
The minibus will be running as usual for anybody who wishes to get a lift from the Lido car park (The Rye, High Wycombe). The bus will leave at 10am promptly.
Alternatively meet us on site at Tom Burt's Hill at 10.15am. We will meet behind High Wycombe Ambulance Station, West End Street, HP11 2JQ. Parking at Eden Centre - a short walk away (https://www.edenshopping.co.uk/information/car-parking/) or you may find on street parking nearby. Please park considerately.
Please can we ask everyone to arrive on time to ensure you do not miss the health & safety and task briefing. If you are late and the session has already started, you may not be able to join. Thank you.
You don't need to print off your Eventbrite ticket!
The Task:
Join us to rake the chalkgrassland in preparation for the wildflowers. All welcome.
Timings (please note these timings are approximate):
10.00: Minibus departs from Lido, please don’t be late!
10.15: Arrival on site for safety briefing
11.30: Tea & coffee break
13.00: Minibus arrives back at Lido, work finishes, time to go home!
What to bring:
Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.
Long trousers are advisable as there may be ticks and thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.
Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain. If it's sunny you may also want to bring sun cream.
Please bring plenty of fluids. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.
Access:
Tom Burt's Hill is on a medium to steep slope and may not suitable for those with limited mobility or unsteady on their feet.
Please note:
Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.
Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
