Greenhouse with CYP

Discipleship is at the heart of the Greenhouse experience; helping young people grow as disciples and training them to make disciples of their friends and other young people. We believe it could offer you some support with re- starting your youth ministry and could be something that would benefit your young people and the people who will be working alongside them.

The benefits for young people are:

• They are supported on their own discipleship journey.

• They learn how to disciple and lead their peers.

• They create a new style of church that will appeal to themselves and others in their generation.

The benefits to the church are:

• The project, training and mentoring are provided centrally (also possible grants)

• Youth led so minimal involvement of adults required for planning.

• Retention, relationships, and discipleship of young people continues.

• Growing the leaders of the future

The Greenhouse process:

1. Zoom- Explore-How could Greenhouse with youth start or develop youth ministry? Introductory zoom gatherings in October (provisionally 5/10/23 1.30-2.30pm and 12/10/23 7.30-8.30pm).

These are for those working with young people or wanting to see work with young people develop. The Zoom will explore the need for discipling and energising young people, for growing a mission/leadership team and of reaching young people that don’t go to church. After this Zoom, bring a group of people from your church to a Greenhouse Intro event in the New Year.

2.In person-Gather-Which possibilities could we explore together about Greenhouse with youth? Greenhouse intro event in early 2024.

Consider your present reality, what you might want to achieve and have time to work out what you should do next (including how to apply to be part of Greenhouse).

3. In-person-Launch- Greenhouse Launch event close to Easter (April) 2024

Teams would start their Greenhouse involvement with this launch event where they would:

Consider the stage they were at in the fresh expressions journey, where they wanted to get to by the autumn gathering and agree the next steps to take.

Engage with the Godsend resources and encourage teams to engage with the relevant sections over the summer.

4. Attend termly Greenhouse Gatherings

Termly Greenhouse gathering dates are TBC but would be in September 2024, January 2025, April 2025, September 2025, January 2026, April 2026.
