Event description
What could be possible for making your home greener and more energy efficient? Find out from three people who've done it in Brighton.

About this event

We are hosting a webinar which will give you an introduction to what could be possible for making your home greener and more energy efficient.

Three local householders from Hanover (in Brighton) will share their experiences of green home improvements, and talk about what motivated them, how successful this has been and what advice they would give to others. Topics will include solar panels, external wall insulation and air source heat pumps.

This event is organised and hosted by Hanover Action and is part of a Brighton and Hove Council funded project we are working on in partnership with the Low Carbon Trust.

The programme of the event is in development but we hope to cover:

  • Why it’s important to take action on our home’s carbon footprint
  • External Wall Insulation – what we learned in our community project in 2012
  • Are airsource heat pumps an opportunity for your home?
  • What happens when you create a green roof on your home?
  • Is solar panelling still an option in Hanover?
  • Hands-on experience of retrofitting a Hanover home
  • What green measures and funding options are available to us?

This is the first of four seminars looking at how people living in older, less energy efficient properties can take practical steps to reduce the carbon emissions related to the heating and day-to-day activities of every day living.
