Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Participants will join Clare Shaw for a poetry walk, starting at the Helmshore Mills Textile Museum and then taking a short expedition along the greenway collecting text and sensory information. The group will then head to the Robin Hood Inn to work together on a creative response to the experience.

Whilst the greenway walk is level, there are steps to access the route. Please wear weather appropriate clothing and suitable, sturdy, footwear is required. Suitable for people aged 14+

Clare Shaw is a poet, playwright and non fiction writer with two poetry collections: Straight Ahead (2006) and Head On (2013), both published by Bloodaxe. She is currently a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at the University of Huddersfield.

Places are FREE, but you must book in advance.

Greenways Exploring

East Lancashire’s new multi-user, cycling and walking routes are starting to take shape this spring and summer. MPA are working with our partners at Lancashire County Council to introduce these routes and connect communities in Hyndburn and Rossendale with some of the secret corners, neglected pathways and hidden gems on their doorsteps.

Further information on the proposed routes and background to the project is on the East Lancashire Strategic Cycleway Network webpage.
