On 22 September, 1934 an explosion ripped through Gresford Colliery in North Wales, starting a fire which trapped hundreds of miners underground. Only six escaped with their lives. The bodies of 253 men and boys were never recovered, though the mine started producing coal again the following year.
Join us to view documents about the disaster, displayed together at Wrexham Library for the first time. This previously unseen display will be held across two days, timed to coincide with the 91st anniversary of the Gresford Colliery Disaster.
Please book your ticket to secure your slot and help us manage numbers.
