Event description

Description

Event title: Grief, loss and disaster: How can we help?

Details:

A session for frontline staff, volunteers and community members who are directly supporting survivors of the Grenfell fire.* This session will also be open to Doctors of the World's volunteers who work with people in vulnerable situations at DOTW's east London clinic.

This will be an interactive workshop in which we will discuss the psychological effects of traumatic loss, how to help those who are grieving, how to understand and cope with stress, including more severe reactions, and how to take care of ourselves.

It will be run by Dr Lynne Jones, a psychiatrist with extensive experience of working in emergency settings.

* The session is not directly aimed at survivors but they are most welcome to attend if they wish.

Please note - as places are strictly limited - if you are not someone who meets the above criteria, please do not sign up for this event. You can email clinic@doctorsoftheworld.org.uk to explain why you believe a place should be allocated to you, but as spaces are limited we are prioritising those directly working with Grenfell survivors, survivors themsleves and DOTW volunteers.
