Your New Normal is a not-for-profit enterprise creating grieving spaces for bereaved young adults

About this Event

Have you suffered the bereavement of a loved one?

Do you struggle to find the space+time to express your grief in your day-to-day?

Our Grief Retreats offer a safe and open space for you to creatively express and process your emotions through yoga, mindfulness, dance and the creative arts.

While talking therapy can help manage grief and loss, we recognise that it isn't for everyone and there isn't always the space available to speak freely. Our aim is to arm you with alternatives techniques you can apply in your own time that can provide you with the same therapeutic release.

Itinerary for the Retreat

1.45pm - Arrivals and Introduction

2pm - 3.15pm - Grounding for Grief (yoga + mindfulness) with Grace

3.30pm-4pm - Tea Break + Nourishing You with Ewelina (Tea and healthy homemade snack included in price while Ewelina talks through healing foods and the link between the food we eat and our brain/mood)

4-4.50pm - Grief Writing with Meera

5pm - Farewells

PLEASE BRING a notebook/journal of your choice for the writing workshop. Pens will be provided but feel free to bring your own.

Yoga mats, bricks, cushions and blankets will be provided but if you would like to bring your own, feel free to do so.

Grace is a Minded yoga therapist and a qualified community mental health nurse for the NHS . She has personally and professionally experienced the benefits that yoga can bring to both physical and mental wellbeing and is particularly interested in using yoga to support marginalised groups. She believes everyone can use the tools of yoga and mindfulness in any situation, where ever they are, to support their own health and wellbeing. Grace currently offers yoga therapy within the NHS and privately, for children and adults with special needs at MahaDevi and the Haven Hospice. She runs 8-week ‘Yoga for the Mind’ courses for Hackney Mind and teaches with the Museum of Happiness.

Ewelina is a Krakow-born London-based registered Nutritional Therapist with a College of Naturopathic Medicine diploma in Nutritional Therapy. She is passionate about helping people get their energy back, regulate their mood and improve their digestion. She often works with people who, for a really long time, have been doing everything to mask their health symptoms and chronic conditions.

Meera is an editor, writer and founder of Your New Normal, a not-for-profit enterprise creating grieving spaces for bereaved young adults.
