In 2010 he returned to the North West taking responsibility for the 13 establishments across Lancashire, Cumbria, Merseyside and Cheshire. He is the Public Sector Prisons strategic lead for Decency and SRO for the national roll out of “Five Minute Intervention”. Alan is currently covering the role of Director of Public Sector Prisons on an acting basis.
This will be a fascinating and rare chance to listen to and meet one of the most influential men in the Prison Service. The timing for this event could not be any better, given the current prison reform proposals and the complete reshuffle of the Criminal Justice Ministers, to whom Ian answers. This guest lecture will be of particular interest to practitioners, scholars and students of any discipline.
