Description

Your Welsh Grinduro experience begins as you roll out of Machynlleth (known as Mach to its' friends) and across the River Dyfi before you head up towards the start of the Climachx Trail and into Dyfi Forest. Well known for it's epic views across the mountains and valleys, we will take you into the wilderness and beyond. The multiple stages and transitions will be varied and will challenge your fitness, technical ability, your bike and your race strategy.

Spectators

Please note that all spectators must purchase a 'Companion Entry' ticket. This will grant each person access to the event village, entertainment tent plus camping and parking from Friday 24th until Sunday 26th July. We will also provide breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday 25th July. Upon arrival please report to Race Registration with your confirmation email to collect your wrist band.

Companion Entry price is based on age on 24th July 2020. Proof of age may be requried.

5 years of age and under: Free

6 years of age - 12 years of age: £20

13 years of age and above: £50

Location


The race HQ and the event village is based in Machynlleth, a market town in Powys, North Wales. Originally known as the ancient capital of Wales, it’s now the British capital of alternative technology.


Based just behind the Co-op supermarket the venue is a stone's throw from the family-friendly high street. Offering plenty of accommodation, restaurants, pubs, cafes, museums and entertainment, all within walking distance.


Getting there

From the North:

Head for Manchester. Take M62 / M6 to M56 towards Chester. Take M53 / A55 south. Follow A483 south past Wrexham and Oswestry. Turn onto A458 through Welshpool, follow A483 west then take A470 south to Machynlleth at Mallwyd roundabout.


From the Midlands, London and the South:

Head for Birmingham and then take M6 north. Turn west onto M54 past Telford. Take M5 round Shrewsbury then turn onto A458 through Welshpool, follow A458 west then take A470 south to Machynlleth at Mallwyd roundabout.


Public transport:

Machynlleth has its own railway station. For rail details call 08457 484 950.


Cark Park and Camping

Car Parking and Camping is included in the race entry fee for all competitors. We have a large, mainly flat grass field with easy access.

Please follow the instructions from the car parking stewards.


Please note the venue front gates are open as follows:

Friday 24th of July 15:00 to 22:00.

Saturday 25th of July 07:00 to 20:00.
