Teacher Bio

Vicky Lane has packed more into her time than the average 40-something. From a
plumber’s mate to a Royal Air Force Officer, a secondary school teacher to a stage
manager, there aren’t many jobs she hasn’t done; she has also played left wing for Manchester United and used to be the fourth best female wicket-keeper in Germany.

Vicky completed her training in improv comedy at Comedy Cafe Berlin and in acting at the Catalyst Institute Berlin and regularly performs longform improv in a range of indie teams including in ‘From Eagle to Eyelet: a 5 hour Improv Marathon’ at the Hilbert Raum Gallery, Berlin.

Since relocating to Bristol in September 2025 she has performed improv in the Big Takeover show, launched and hosts the Lip Service open mic stand-up night at Bristol Comedy Den and Queer Stories, an LGBTQIA+ spoken word event at Sidney and Eden. She is currently working to establish her own devised theatre company.

Vicky has over 12 years’ experience as a teacher and facilitator and is passionate about actively creating safe and inclusive environments where participants can let go, be in the moment and fully explore their creativity.

She made her Shakespearian debut playing Romeo at 42, brought distinctive voices to the four suburban dance moms of ‘Dance Nation’ by Claire Barron, and drew on her own coming out experience to portray the highs and lows of lesbian relationships in ‘Bright Half Life’ by Tanya Barfield. She has trained at the Comedy Cafe Berlin and she is currently completing her acting studies at Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology before pursuing her career as an actor and director.
