Description

A 90 minute video and discussion programme which will feature short documentary films about people and communities who are using bicycles for social justice. Elly Blue, author of Bikenomics: How bicycling can save the economy, and Joe Biel are sharing their documentary films from the USA featuring people including, single mom is arrested for riding to work, a community works together to create a bike shop, a masked superhero takes to the streets of Mexico City, and more.

In between films is a facilitated discussion about issues of class, race, gender, economics, and cycling with Elly, Joe and local cycling activists.

This event is being kindly hosted by Popup Bikes. All donations for funding Elly and Joe's travel and other event expenses are very welcome; suggested donation is £5 waged; £3 unwaged. This is a 'bring a cushion' event! If you sitting on the floor will present you with difficulties in attending please let us know - we will arrange a minimal amount of chairs to facilitate everyone's ability to be here with us!

Elly Blue and Joe Biel are documentary filmmakers and book publishers from Portland, Oregon, USA.
