Group Build: tree boxes for the Edinburgh CitySounds project
Description
Come and help us build some wooden tree boxes, which will be installed around the Meadows with microphones inside them for the CitySounds project. This will be a great chance to learn some basic woodwork skills, whilst also contributing to an exciting community project. No previous woodwork experience required!
A bit about the CitySounds project:
The CitySounds project is installing audio capture devices at several locations across the Meadows in order to capture sound recordings of of bats, birds and other wildlife; as well as traffic, and human activity. This audio data will be used to answer questions such as: How active is the bat population around the Meadows? Does traffic noise change animal behaviour over the course of a day? What is the pattern of human activity during different seasons of the year?
