Group Therapy for Black people and People of Colour
Event Information
About this Event
A session that offers you an opportunity to access therapeutic support while being witnessed by others in a compassionate, non-judgmental and non-directive environment. The focus of the group is to be present with what arises and meet the moment as we are, with no requirement to be any different. Sharing emotions helps us process difficult experiences during this uncertain time and create new narratives of hope if we choose to.
Each group will be limited to eight participants and group agreements will be in place to ensure the space remains safe for everyone.
Please note:- Acquiring your ticket does not guarantee entry to the session. The Zoom room will open 5 minutes before the start time of the session and only the first eight people in the waiting room will be admitted to the session.
If you have any questions, please email hello@kimloliya.com

FAQ
How does the format work?
We start with an introduction round, followed by a check-in where you are invited to share how you're doing and for the rest of the session we explore some themes that are coming up for some or all of us and we end with a check-out before the session ends.
I've never been to group therapy, what can I expect?
Newcomers are welcome. You can expect a gentle space where you can share what your world is like, as much or as little as you want to and listen to the (often relatable) experiences of others.
Do you have some example topics people talk about?
Yes, common themes have included stress, boundaries, relationships, wellbeing, grief, managing conflict, problems at work, feeling low or worried, the impact of 2020 etc.
