Group Walk: Exploring Leicester's Food and Drink Connections

A city walk exploring some of Leicester's food and drink connections. This walk provides fascinating facts about food and drink in Leicester, from grocery shops to well known food and drink manufacturers and different cuisines. This walk is led by one of our volunteers with an interest in the subject. Please note: no food or drink is provided during the walk! This is an information-based walk rather than a pub or restaurant crawl, although walkers are free to find a refreshment pit-stop afterwards!

Booking

This walk is free to attend, but numbers are limited so please book via Eventbrite to secure your place. Alternatively, phone 0116 454 2822 (this is a temporary phone line, as our usual number is currently down). Please note our phone line is answered during office hours only (Monday to Friday, 9am-5.30pm), not at weekends or bank holidays. Adult places must be booked. Booking is not required for children. Children are welcome to attend, however they must be accompanied by an adult.

If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel via Eventbrite or contact us by phone (during office hours)so we can allow others the opportunity to attend.

Travel

New Walkers

If you have not walked with Leicester City Council before we will ask you to complete our Walker Registration form. You will receive an email in the days leading up to the event explaining how to complete the form. You only need to do this once and can attend any of our walks thereafter (subject to booking a place on Eventbrite).

Dress for the weather

Remember to dress appropriately for the weather. Our group walks will go ahead in most weather. We recommend the following:

Comfortable sturdy footwear
Bring a raincoat or umbrella in case of rain
On warm days wear cool layers, hat and sunscreen
On cooler days wear appropriate warm layers (hat, scarf, gloves) and a coat/jacket
It's advisable to bring a bottle of water with you.

We kindly ask walkers to book a place, to help us keep our group sizes manageable.
