GROW Central Learning Community Taster Day
Thu 11 May 2017, 10:00 – 16:00 BST
This is a Taster Day workshop for church leaders and their teams who are exploring a discipleship & mission Learning Community starting in the Autumn of 2017.
A Learning Community Taster Day is a workshop designed to give a feel for what a full Learning Community is like. You will be introduced to the basic structure of a Learning Community which is to aid reflection, learning, dreaming and planning for your church or community.
The three questions which are asked are:
What Is - How do we bring an honest reflection of where things are right now?
What Could Be - How do we begin to dream and reimagine where God might be leading us in the future?
What Will Be - How do we develop intentional plans to take hold of where God is leading us?
Many church teams have found this process to be incredibly valuable in moving towards embedding a culture of discipleship and mission in their contexts. The day will include worship, teaching, stories, team exercises, personal reflection and chance to meet and hear from some leaders who have experienced a learning community themselves and ask questions about how they work.
The day includes morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch.
The dates and costs of the full learning community will be available at this Taster Day, but the provisional dates for the first two gatherings are:
Autumn 2017 Tuesday 10th - Thursday 12th October
Spring 2018: Tuesday 24th - Thursday 26th October
There will be two further gaterings in Autumn 2018 & Spring 2019.
Who is this event for?
The event is primarily aimed at church leaders and their teams. Whilst church leaders are welcome to come on your own, we'd strongly recommend bringing at least one other person from your church with you to get a feel of whether the learning community process might work in your context. If you are not a church leader but are interested in finding out more about GROW Central discipleship & mission learning communities, why not talk to your church leader and invite them to come along with you? We'd love to meet them with you.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Westwood Church is located on the outskirts of the city of Coventry, close to Warwick University. There is a free carpark for use during the whole of the event. We are 15-minute taxi ride from Coventry Rail Station.
