This final workshop in the series focuses on preparing for winter growing, seed saving, and soil conservation. It’s ideal for those looking to extend their growing season, reduce input costs, and make the most of their harvests.


What You’ll Learn:

Winter Crops: What to plant now for continued harvests in autumn and winter.

Using Greenhouses, Polytunnels & Cold Frames: How to extend your growing season and protect crops from the elements.

Preserving the Harvest: Simple and effective methods for storing vegetables, from curing squash to storing root crops.

Seed Saving: Learn how to save and store seeds from your own plants to build resilience and reduce costs. Includes seeds to take home.

Soil Health & Green Manures: How to protect and improve your soil over winter for better crops next year.

Preparing for Winter: Pest control, mulching, and other methods to keep your garden healthy through the colder months.

Who are these workshops for?

Our Grow Your Own workshops are designed for anyone interested in growing their own food. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced gardener looking to refine your skills, you'll gain practical knowledge tailored to the season.

Do I need to attend all three workshops?

Each workshop is a standalone session, so you can attend just one or join all three for a full growing season experience. Booking all three workshops gives you a £10 discount

What should I bring?

Suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear – we’ll be outside and hands-on! A notebook if you’d like to take notes. A packed lunch. We’ll provide tea, coffee, & tasters from the garden.

Where are the workshops held?

At Real Food Garden in Cornwall. The exact address and directions will be emailed to you after booking.

Can I buy plants or produce during the workshop?

Yes! We often have seasonal plants, seeds, and fresh produce available to purchase.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Workshops will go ahead in most weather conditions, with covered areas available if needed. Please dress appropriately for the forecast.

Can I get a refund if I can’t attend?

Tickets are non-refundable, but if you can’t make it, you’re welcome to transfer your place to a friend. Just let us know in advance.

How do I book?

You can secure your place by paying a deposit through Eventbrite. The remaining balance will be due on the day of the workshop, payable by cash or card. If you’d prefer to pay the full amount upfront, contact Amelia at amelia@realfoodgarden.co.uk / 07725 857637 to arrange direct payment.
